Hi, I’m Vikki and I work a full-time job by day and an aspiring blogger by night.
I blog about the Hawaii local culture, where food, travel, art, events, and lifestyle come together.
I love all these things about Hawaii and my goal with this blog is to share with our readers what the culture and lifestyle is about and what they can expect when visiting the islands and what to do.
I feature different places, events, food, and I’m working on a travel guide.
I grew up on Kauai at a time when sugar plantations still operated and the term “small-kid time” was coined.
Where making “mud pie” was a real thing; hence, the name of the dessert. This is how names came about from a time where living was carefree and simple. If you know, you know.
I now live on the most populated island of Oahu where the traffic is bad and the “best time” to be on the freeway is when you don’t have to be.
The beauty of the beaches, mountains, and great weather are why people come to the islands and wish to stay.
What people want most is to “experience” and live like a local. See and do what the locals do; as you know, locals normally don’t go into Waikiki.
What ohana means and how it is the culture of giving and taking care of each other. Family is strong in the local lifestyle, and because it’s expensive to live in Hawaii, many homeowners have multi-generational homes taking care of their ohana.
Since I’m from Kauai and live on Oahu, these are the islands that I will focus my blog on. Stay tuned for the next post.
